That Huaisheng Mosque in Guangzhou is one of the oldest mosques in China is not surprising, given that Guangzhou was where Islam was introduced to China in the 7th Century. The mosque is established for remembering the prophet of Islam, Mohammed. So the name of the mosque, Huaisheng, means 'remember the sage'. It is one of the four most well-known mosques in China, the other three being Yangzhou Crane Mosque, Quanzhou Kylin Mosque and Hangzhou Phoenix Mosque. Thus it is an excellent place to visit if you want to learn about Islamic culture in China.

South China Botanical Garden

'Long Dong Magic Forest' is one of the most representative sites in the South China Botanical Garden and was chosen as one of 'Eight Top Scenic Spots in Guangzhou' in 1986. It consists of two peninsulas (the Palm Garden and the Relic Garden) and one man-made lake. The Palm Garden is green all year round while the Relic Garden has four distinctive seasons like a changing picture.
'Guangzhou's Oldest Village' has been rebuilt on Neolithic age ruins, which were the birthplace of the people of Guangzhou. This is a culture and art square in the new downtown area. The new museum is in the neighborhood of Guangzhou Opera House and Guangzhou Library. Its south side faces the Pearl River. The new museum is a large modern square building, like a 'treasure box of moonlight', which is the name of museum building favored by local people.

The Orchid Garden

The Orchid Garden provides an oasis in the middle of this busy city. The garden has three greenhouses and, as its name suggests, houses over 200 varieties of orchids.
